Armenians Accuse Vatican Over Azerbaijan

Armenian leaders from Nagorno-Karabakh have criticized the Vatican for remaining silent about the destruction of Armenian Christian heritage and the forced displacement of Armenians after Azerbaijan's takeover of the region in 2023.
Beglaryan Artak, former human rights ombudsman of Artsakh, told the Substack.com-Account The Pillar (June 26) that the Vatican has failed to defend Armenian churches and monuments. He argued that Azerbaijan has successfully influenced the Holy See to avoid speaking out. He added many Armenians feel abandoned by the Church - although the Armenians split from the Church after the Council of Chalcedon (451).
The criticism targets the Vatican's close relationship with Azerbaijan. Armenians point to major restoration projects in the Vatican funded by the government-linked Heydar Aliyev Foundation and to the 2020 papal honor awarded to Azerbaijan's First Lady, Mehriban Aliyeva.

WOW, just Wow!!! When I visited Rome a decade ago you had to have "tickets" to attend papal Masses or liturgies but these were always obtained for FREE to avoid the charge of simony! Now the "merciful" modernists of the Vatican have shown their true colors by turning God's House into a den of thieves!

la verdad prevalece

2 Peter 2:3 And in their greed they will exploit you with false words; from of old their condemnation has not been idle, and their destruction has not been asleep.
Prevost promotes a false gospel of perdition while living as a parasite on Catholics' money. That is where the simony begins.

Cardinal Grech: "New Stage in Reception of Vatican II"

The implementation phase of the synod “will mark a new stage in the reception of the Second Vatican Council,” Cardinal Mario Grech warned the consistory on Saturday. He is a 🌈 Cardinal and the Vatican's Secretary of the Synod.
His lengthy speech, which was around 3,000 words long, was published on Zenit.org. Much of it was repetitive, focusing on buzzwords such as listening, discernment, communion, participation, the 'exchange of gifts', implementation, and 'conversation in the Spirit'.
In terms of density of ideas, the speech was low.
The essential message was
• the Synod is not over.
• implementation is the real work.
• synodality should become part of the Church's ordinary life.
• this is the next stage of Vatican II.
Two key sentences were:
"The discernment of the signs of the times, ecumenical and interreligious dialogue, and the commitment to justice and peace become measures of the Church's diakonia."
"In this way, the implementation phase becomes a new stage in the reception …Okunengi

Fourth question. ”Why is intelligence and an extremely quick mind given to some people, while others are like mindless asses?”
Answer to the fourth question.
”As to why some people are more intelligent, I answer: With regard to eternal salvation, abundant wisdom does not benefit the soul, unless she also shines with goodness of life. It is in fact more useful to have less knowledge but a better way of life. Accordingly, reason is measured out to all persons in such a way that they can gain heaven, if they lead godly lives. Yet the reasoning faculty differs in many people according to their natural and spiritual dispositions.
Just as one person succeeds through virtue and Godsent zeal in perfecting the virtues, another can likewise fall into vanities through bad will and nature's bad disposition as well as an immoral upbringing. One's nature …Okunengi

"Young People Want Traditional Mass": Bishop James Conley of Lincoln, Nebraska, told EWTN on June 26 that he sees "a resurgence of interest in all things traditional, especially among young people": "They want reverence. They want transcendence. They want beauty in the liturgy." He believes this desire is also influencing the Novus Ordo: "I believe that we're seeing a trend turning more traditional even in the Novus Ordo. And I think this is a good thing." Ordained in 1985, Bishop James Conley has celebrated the Mass in the Roman rite since 1988, though about 95% of the time he uses the Novus Ordo.

Bishop James Conley, Lincoln: "There is a resurgence of interest in all things traditional, especially among young people. I see it in my own diocese. They want reverence. They want transcendence. They want beauty in the liturgy."
"Thanks be to God we have not only the Fraternity of Saint Peter, but I have a couple of priests who celebrate, with permission of the Holy See, a Sunday Mass in the Extraordinary Form... It's my hope that as they continue to ordain priests... they will be able to meet the needs of the people who desire this form of the Mass."
"So don't give up and don't jump ship."

Wednesday, 2nd July 1913 Findings in Probe are Guarded
Wednesday, July 2, 1913
No Indication Given of Results of Investigation of Reports of Disorderly Houses.
The result of the Grand Jury's sensational vice probe of a few weeks ago will be made known Wednesday when the presentments are returned to Superior Judge W. D. Ellis, who two months ago charged that an extensive investigation be made.
Save when an indictment was returned against Police Commissioner W. P. Fain, which charged him with keeping a disorderly house and beating one of the women inmates, no inkling of the general trend of the probe got beyond the closed doors of the jury room.
When the probe first started the jury expected it to be completed in a day. It took a sensational turn when Colonel Thomas B. Felder charged Chief of Detectives Newport Lanford and his detectives with openly protecting vice, and the attorney stated he could submit to the jury a "vice list" that would "stand Atlanta on its head."
List Given to Jury.

Bernie Sanders isn't softening it: he says Israel is committing GENOCIDE in Gaza.
The first US senator to use that word, he's forced SEVEN votes to cut off US weapons and tax dollars to what he calls 'Netanyahu's genocidal government.' Israel flatly REJECTS the charge. So who's right — Sanders, or the allies who say he's gone too far?

Leo XIV Confirms November Return to Peru

Leo XIV intends to visit Peru during the first half of November, Peruvian President José María Balcázar announced following a private audience with the Pope.
Peru would be the centerpiece of a broader South American tour that may also include Argentina and Uruguay.
Although the Vatican has not yet published an official itinerary, Balcázar said Leo XIV personally confirmed that he plans to be in Peru in November.
The proposed itinerary would include Lima, Chiclayo, Piura, Pucallpa and Cusco, with additional visits to Puno and Iquitos also under consideration.
The visit could last between eight and ten days.
Balcázar said Peru has offered helicopters to assist the Pope in reaching remote towns in northern Peru and the Amazon region, reflecting his desire to visit as many local communities as possible.
Argentina, the homeland of Francis, was never visited by him during his thirteen years as pope. A visit by Leo XIV would mark the first papal trip to Argentina since 1987.

Rainbow Flag for Last European Vatican II Bishop

The former Ivrea Bishop Luigi Bettazzi, 99, Italy, the last European participant in Vatican II, has died on July 16. He was loved by the oligarchs' media for his anti-Catholic positions. Francis called him an “intrepid witness to the Council.” Bettazzi was one of 42 bishops who signed a 1965 pact in the Roman Domitilla catacomb, promising to live "poorly." In November 2022, he admitted to "subverting the Church's position on abortion," assuming that the embryo was not a person. The coffin at Bettazzi's funeral was covered with a “peace flag” in rainbow colours (LaNuovaBq.it, July 19).

Found this quote on a flag manufacturer's website: "A flag isn’t just a flag. It’s the identity of a country’s people and a representation of its culture." So for a "prince of the Church" to have his coffin draped in this particular flag - and NOT something with Christian meaning - says a lot about him (or those charged with honoring him in death).
I'm reminded on an related incident. A modernist priest from a religious order died and his body was displayed in the community's chapel following the order's custom of having the deceased in habit & holding a Rosary in his hands. Many people commented that they didn't recognize him since he never appeared that way while living!

Canon Lawyer, Professor Michael J. Mazza: “Over 80% of the nation’s priests regularly fear being falsely accused, largely because of the lack of due process they encounter the instant an allegation is made against them. Nearly the same percentage of surveyed priests suggested that their bishop would be one of the LAST people they would ever go to for help if they encountered a problem in their ministry. That is a particularly worrisome attitude given the close bond that is supposed to link bishops and priests in the service of the people of God.”

Opinion: The U.S. bishops missed an opportunity with changes to the “Charter”

Bishop Barry Knestout of Richmond, Virginia, chair of the U.S. bishops’ Committee on the Protection of Children and Young People, proposes revised procedures to address allegations of sexual abuse of minors by Catholic clergy in Orlando, Florida, on June 11, 2026. (Credit: USCCB/YouTube/screenshot)
The internet buzzed after the U.S. bishops consecrated the nation to the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Orlando on Thursday. June 11. Catholic news outlets and bloggers mostly raved enthusiastically, while the secular media propagated slightly more restrained summaries. Even President Trump weighed in, saying the action was a “poignant reminder that America has always been guided by the loving hand of God.”
Kudos to the bishops for turning to God for help in troubling times for this nation. But we would do well to consider the many places in Scripture where the prayers of those who ignore the basic demands of justice are not heard by a Lord who hears the cries of the marginalized and forgotten. …

Truth Without Charity Destroys Christian Witness
The Gospel reading warns against the hypocrisy of the Pharisees, who preached well but lacked charity and used their knowledge to condemn others. True faith requires balancing truth with charity, avoiding judgment, and fearing only God, who holds the power of eternal life. We should be ready to die for our faith, focusing on loving and serving God, rather than fearing earthly threats.
