DAILY SCRIPTURE READINGS 17 OCTOBER 2026 Ephesians 1:15–23 | Psalm 8 | Luke 12:8–12 Letter to the Ephesians 1,15-23. Brothers and sisters, hearing of your faith in the Lord Jesus and of your love for all the holy ones, do not cease giving thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers, that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you a spirit of wisdom and revelation resulting in knowledge of him. May the eyes of (your) hearts be enlightened, that you may know what is the hope that belongs to his call, what are the riches of glory in his inheritance among the holy ones, and what is the surpassing greatness of his power for us who believe, in accord with the exercise of his great might, which he worked in Christ, raising him from the dead and seating him at his right hand in the heavens, far above every principality, authority, power, and dominion, and every name that is named not only in this age but also in the one to come. And he put all things beneath his feet …އިތުރު
Leo XIV called Vladimir Putin from his hospital bed, just three days after undergoing lung cancer surgery, to request a humanitarian ceasefire in Oleshky, Ukraine. “It was the Holy Father himself who took the initiative,” confirmed Vatican Secretary of State Cardinal Pietro Parolin. “I hope that, faced with a request from the Holy Father, President Putin will agree to put into practice what has been asked of him,” Parolin added.
Disastrous speech before a tiny crowd at Dalton Municipal Airport in Georgia ....where he rambled about putting on makeup and repeatedly commented on how handsome men in the audience were. Meiselas breaks down the bizarre remarks and the noticeably bored crowd’s reaction as Trump campaigns ahead of the midterms. Visit Meidas+ | MeidasTouch Network | Substack for more! Calling it brainwashing makes people reject the conclusion that it is brainwashing. I believe it's just nobody in both pictures have any idea what they are raising a flag for. Maybe the meal they get afterwards or the icecream is waiting.
Three Catholic dioceses in northern England have proposed merging into one amid declining numbers. Bishop Marcus Stock has submitted a report to Pope Leo XIV recommending the unification of Leeds, Middlesbrough and Hallam, which together serve approximately 496,000 Catholics in 193 parishes. Monsignor Stock, Bishop of Leeds since 2014, also serves as Apostolic Administrator of Middlesbrough and Hallam. The recommendation follows an extensive consultation involving priests, deacons, religious communities, lay Catholics, diocesan councils, trustees and Catholic schools. Nine in-person meetings were held, and an online questionnaire received 840 responses. The consultation found broad support among clergy and openness among lay Catholics to unification, provided local identities are respected. Diocesan leaders unanimously supported recommending the merger to Rome. The proposal comes amid declining participation and clergy numbers. Between 2000 and 2025, Mass attendance fell by 52%, baptisms …އިތުރު

Katie Zacharia Is Out After 5 Days as White House Press Secretary nytimes.com/…politics/katie-zacharia-fired-press-… The ouster came as Ms. Zacharia was shadowed by questions about how she had presented her legal career and handled her first press briefing. By Shawn McCreeshTyler Pager and Hamed Aleaziz Oct. 16, 2026, 1:33 p.m. ET President Trump’s new press secretary, Katie Zacharia, was fired Friday, after less than a week on the job, according to three people familiar with the matter. Neither the White House nor Ms. Zacharia responded to requests for comment. But Mr. Trump told reporters on Friday that he had encouraged Ms. Zacharia to “reconsider” the job. “Honestly, if I were you, I’d reconsider,” he said, recounting his conversation with his press secretary. He added: “Katie, do you need this? I don’t think you need this.” Ms. Zacharia had gotten off to a bumpy start with her first and final press briefing on Tuesday, followed by an onslaught of headlines about whether she had …އިތުރު
Behind a White House Feud That Is Bitter Even by Trump-Era Standards nytimes.com/…tics/alina-habba-mildon-richard-gren… Two Trump allies — Alina Habba Mildon and Richard Grenell — are locked in a raging dispute that has its roots in the battle for a share of the spoils in Venezuela. By Tyler Pager and Anatoly Kurmanaev Oct. 15, 2026 The accusations were shocking. Alina Habba Mildon, who had been one of President Trump’s personal lawyers, stormed into the Oval Office last week intent on taking down another prominent ally of the president. Her target was Richard Grenell, who had earlier served as Mr. Trump’s special envoy to Venezuela and as head of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. Mrs. Mildon had just married a Turkish investor, Turhan Mildon, who has extensive business holdings in Venezuela. He had been in regular contact with Mr. Grenell the previous year both about Venezuela and about supporting the Kennedy Center. But now Mrs. Mildon was telling Mr. Trump that …އިތުރު
"And therefore it is to be firmly believed that God governs and disposes not only natural things, but also human acts. Psalm 93:7-11: “And they said: The Lord shall not see, neither shall the God of Jacob understand. Understand, you senseless ones among the people; and you fools, be wise at last. He who planted the ear, shall He not hear? Or He who formed the eye, shall He not consider? (…) The Lord knows the thoughts of men.” Therefore God sees all things—both thoughts and the hidden things of the will. Hence the necessity of doing good is especially imposed upon men, because all that they think and do is manifest to the divine gaze, as the Apostle says in Hebrews 4:13: “All things are naked and open to His eyes.” — St. Thomas Aquinas
@john333 Yes they most certainly are. But so much more than that. It will be Russia lead by The Immaculate Heart of Mary to convert the world. To bring peace throughout the world. To destroy evil. And to let the world know and love The Immaculate Heart of Mary. Which they already do now and always did. Their love for The Blessed Mother was always with them. Won wars with Our Lady of Kazan. Miracles through her. Including a miracle of Our Lady of Sorrows, healing the man she asked to place a Picture of her in their Church. And yet, so much more.
Cookies and they want us to create a free account. Can explain explain what it's about? There will be no more ceasefires! How many times did Putin agree to them and the US and others involved gave Zelensky INTEL to bomb inside of Russia? I lost count how many times. Russia is looking for a complete peace treaty to be held up by Ukraine who is controlled by the US and West. Who can blame him? I think Russia has shown more than enough patience in the past several decades with the West and US. Broken treaties, lies, broken promises and all else. Russia sill kept her patience. All thanks in the past few decades by President V. V. Putin!
