Meditating Humility
Isaiah 66:2 “Who shall I look to? The humble and contrite who tremble at My Word”OUR REALITY:
a) Psalm 51,5: “You know I was born guilty, a sinner from the moment of conception”.
b) Job 25, 4-6: “Could any man ever think himself innocent, when confronted by God? Born of woman, how could he ever be clean? The very moon lacks brightness, and the stars are unclean as he sees them. What, then, of man, maggot that he is, the son of man, a worm?”
c) Psalm 19:13-14 : “But who realizes his errors? From hidden offenses cleanse me. Keep also your servant from pride, let him have no dominion over me; then I will be blameless, free from serious offense”.
d) Ecclesiasticus (Sirach) 15:20: “He has commanded no one to be wicked, nor has he given anyone license to sin”.
e) Proverb 24: 16 : “For though the virtuous man falls seven times, he stands up again. The wicked are the ones who stumble in adversity”
f) Isaiah 5, 21: “Woe to those who think themselves wise and to themselves discreet!”
g) Proverb 21, 2: “Every way of man is right in his own eyes, but the Lord weighs the hearts of men”.
h) Isaiah 6, 5-7: "What a wretched state I am in! I am lost, for I am a man of unclean lips and I live among a people of unclean lips.”
i) James 4,6: “God opposes the proud but he gives generously to the humble.”
j) Proverb 18,12: “The human heart is haughty before destruction comes, humility goes before honor.”
